Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

Charlie Bucket was a boy who lived in a small house on the edge

of a big city. He had a happy family, but they were very poor and

could only afford one chocolate bar for Charlie on his birthday.

One day, a miracle happened. Willy Wonka, the famous chocolate

maker, announced that he was going to open his factory to five

lucky children who found a golden ticket in a Wonka bar. Charlie

longed to find a ticket and to see inside the mysterious factory.

With each announcement of a golden ticket, Charlie's hopes sank

lower and lower. Four children were chosen: an insufferable brat

named Veruca Salt, a gluttonous boy named Augustus Gloop, a

TV-obsessed girl named Violet Beauregarde, and a spoiled boy

named Mike Teavee.

Charlie thought his chance was gone when, one day, he found a

coin buried in the snow. He used it to buy a Wonka bar and, to his

amazement, found the fifth and final golden ticket.

Together with his Grandpa Joe, he joined the other children on a

tour of the factory. Each room was a wonderland of chocolate

rivers, edible grass, and candy flowers. But one by one, the other

children met with accidents and were sent home. Only Charlie

remained.

As a reward for his good nature and love of chocolate, Willy

Wonka offered Charlie the chance to inherit his chocolate factory.

Overwhelmed with joy, Charlie accepted the offer and headed off

into a future filled with chocolate, candy, and wonder.
