Including the following food or fruit in your breakfast makes you healthier

and full of energy.

Grapefruit

“Even if you changed nothing else about your diet, eating half a grapefruit

before each meal may help you lose up to a pound a week,” says Patricia Bannan,

author of EatRightWhentheTimeIsRight. “Researchers found that when obese

people ate half a grapefruit before each meal, they dropped an average of 3.5

pounds over 12 weeks,” she says.

Tart Cherry

Tart cherries have been shown to benefit heart health as well as body weight

in a study on obese rats. A 12-week study by the University of Michigan found that

researchers noted that the cherry consumption had great ability to alter the

expression of fat genes. Enjoy them during breakfast to kick your morning off

right.

Sweet Potato

Sweet potatoes are packed with nutrients and can help you burn fat. They are

high in fiber and have a low glycemic index(血糖指数),which means they are

absorbed slowly and keep you feeling full longer. Min Chen likes to use them to

whip up a sweet potato hash. “I love any kind of this dish because it provides rich

vitamins, minerals and fiber. It is very filling, which helps keep appetite and

portions under control as the day goes on,”she says.

Bell Pepper

Green, red or yellow, fresh or frozen, peppers are never a bad companion for

your eggs. Thanks to their high vitamin C content, eating them can help burn stored

fat. Studies also indicate that Vitamin C helps muscles process a fatty acid called

Jack was born without eyes. He was very lucky as he grew up having other

kittens (young cats)to socialize with, and was used to people from the moment he

was born. However, when it cametime to find the kittens homes, no one knew

where Jack would end up.

That's when I got an email from my friend. All she asked was “Do you still

want one of thekittens? There's one here with no eyes and no one would like to take

him.” Without thinking, I toldher that I did want the kitten.

When we first brought him home, Jack stayed mostly in my room. After about

a day he had noissues running around and climbing on everything. At times he gets

lost in the house, he'll stop. Butwe just call him and talk to him and it isn't long

before he finds his way back to us.

A few weeks after getting Jack, we got a new farm cat named Bear. Jack and

Bear havebecome best friends. It doesn't matter that he can't see. He always knows

when Bear is around. He'llrun across the yard straight to Bear and wrap his front

legs around his neck in a big hug. They runafter each other around and wrestle.

They'll lie down in the grass together when is truly an inspiration. I've

owned lots of kittens in my life, but Jack is the happiest andmost playful. He

Gumbo, another eyeless cat, said it best when she told me that cats don't have

disabilities, they haveadaptability.

Most people around the world are right-handed. This also seems to be true in

history. In 1799,scientists studied works of art made at different times from 1,500

B.C. to the of the people shown in these works are right-handed,so

the scientists guessed that right-handedness has always been common through

history. Today, only about 10% to 15% of the world’s population is lefthanded.

Why are there more right-handed people than left-handed ones?Scientists

now know that a person’s two hands each have their own jobs. Most people use

hands to find things or hold things. The right hand is used to work with things. This

is because of the different work of the two sides of the brain. The right side of the

brain, which makes a person’s hands and eyes work together, controls the left hand.

The left side of the brain, which controls the right hand,is the center for thinking

and doing problems. These findings show that more artists should be left-handed,

and studies have found that left-handedness is twice as common among artists as

among people in other jobs.

No one really knows what makes a person become right-handed instead of

left-handed. Scientists have found that almost 40% of the people become

left-handed because their main brain is damaged when they are born. However, this

doesn’t happen to everyone,so scientists guess there must be another reason why

people become left-handed. One idea is that people usually get right-handed from

their parents.

Though right-handedness is more common than left-handedness, people no

longer think left-handed people are strange or unusual.

32.After studying works of art made at different times in history, the scientists

found that .

34.According to the passage, which of the following is NOT true?

A.No one really knows what makes a person become right-handed.
