Actress Danai Gurira calls herself a Zimerican. Her parents came from Zimbabwe。

She was born in the American State of Iowa。 But her family moved back to Harare, Zimbabwe,

when she was five years old. She returned to the United States for college and has lived

there ever since.

“I was always in a hodgepodge of culture," she said. “There's no other identity

I know, really。" The actress may be best known as Michonne, the zombie。killer in

the television series

The

Dead

。 But when Gurira is not killing zombies, she

is busy with other projects. She recently played rapper Tupac Shakur's mother in a film.

And she is now busy racing between theaters for two plays in New York City - plays that

she wrote。

Her play

Familiar

is an ay . It centers on the cultural

clashes between American and African traditions. The play takes place in the State of

Minnesota. The eldest daughter of Zimbabwean parents is getting married to a white man。

The story was taken from her own observations。 Gurira said,“I was at a wedding and

I was just struck by all of my family’s absurdities - and my own included. And I just

knew I couldn't not write about it!”The upper life of

familiar to many American audiences.

But the setting of her play

She described it like this。 “These were, like, 22。, 23。year。old girls, women,

who had, like, you know, little skimpy jeans on, little skimpy tops, and really looked

cool and hip and current and then, they had these big AK。47s on their backs.” Gurira

went to Liberia and met with women who were former soldiers and peace negotiators。

She wrote the play based on their stories。

If you happen to be walking through the Swedish city of Malmö, make sure to

pay attention to the little details. If you take a look down you may notice

something_amazing inside a basement window in the neighborhood of Mollevangen: tiny

businesses — a bakery and a “cheese and cracker" shop — just the right size for mice.

“It’s just too charming to imagine a world where mice live

parallel (相似的) to ours but just slightly out of sight. And they

need our attention,” said one representative of the artist group

Anonymouse MMX。

They cited the works of Don Bluth, Disney and Astrid Lindgren

as “big influences” for the idea。 There are only two shops now, but the group says

they have plans for more.

So what goes into the construction of a store for mice? “They are built of things

that we had laying around and also things we collected, like caps, matches, buttons,

a lamp shade and Italian stamps etc。,” one of the artists said in an email。 “The

idea was to use things mice themselves could have collected and reused.”

The shops aren't actually open for business, though。 “The nuts are real but the

store is closed at the moment, so unless the mice possess some kind of lockpicking

(开锁) talent we doubt they’ll get them," an artist said。

But it does sound like the place certainly has some human fans。 “The idea is for

them to stick around until someone breaks them, and for them to become an organic part

of the city,” mouse artist Andy said. “Already people have started to interact (互

A.To entertain people.

B.To show their care for mice.

1.advertised “advertised in sporting goods stores”

2.was used 主语the term是谓语动词use的承受者,需用被动语态;“During the 1970s

4.necessarily 空白处所填词在句中修饰“putting your life in danger",需用

5.to protect
