高中英文作文：No Pains, No Gains

As we all know it, the only way to achieve success is to

work hard. Just as a saying goes, “no pains, no gains”.

Have you ever seen a man who succeeds just by idling about?

Of course, the answer is "No". So if you wants to accomplish

something, you must take great pains, otherwise you will gain

nothing.

Numerous success stories can support this irrefutable truth.

Without hundreds of failures and unremitting efforts, Edison

would not have invented the light bulb, and the Wright

brothers would not invested the plane. Without pains-taking

efforts and hard training, China’s famous athletes could not

have brought home their world championships. For example,

hurdles superhero Liu Xiang could not have made such a great

breakthrough in track race without tortuous training. The

same is true for Ding Junhui, the world championship winner,

who is said to lock himself in a room for more than ten hours

practicing snooker every day.

From these examples we learn that success can be achieved

only by persistent efforts. Unfortunately, there are some

people in our society who do not understand this simple truth.

They idly wait in vain for success or resort to dishonest

means, such as falsification in scientific research, academic

plagiarism and examination cheating, but they all end up with

failure or punishment because they violate the cardinal rule：

no pains, no gains. If one wants to achieve success, only

hard work and his perspiration can get him to glory.

大家都知道，要想取得成功的途径是努力奋斗。正如有句名言所云：

“一分耕耘,一分收获”。你见过有人靠无所事事获得成功吗？答案当

然是否定的。所以，如果你想有所成就,你就必须下苦功夫,否则你不

会有所得。

有很多成功的故事能够支持这个无可辩驳真理。没有数以百计的失败

和不懈努力, 爱迪生不可能发明出灯泡，莱特兄弟也不可能发明飞机。

没有刻苦努力和艰巨训练, 中国的一些运动员就不可能为国家赢得世

界冠军。例如, 没有刻苦训练，跨栏超级明星刘翔就不可能在田径比

赛有如此巨大的突破。世界冠军获得者丁俊辉也是如此，据说丁俊辉

每天把自己锁在房间里苦练斯诺克达十多个小时。

从这些例子我们懂得只有坚持不懈的努力才能取得成功。遗憾的是，

社会上有些人不明白这个简单的道理。他们什么都不做，只想空等成

功的到来，或者采取不正当的手段，如在科学研究造假、学术剽窃、

考试作弊等，到头来都以失败告终或受到惩罚，因为他们违反了“不

劳则无获”这个基本规则。一个人想获得成功，只有通过自己的努力

和汗水才能登上荣耀的殿堂。他们悠闲地等待徒劳的,伪造在、学术剽

窃和考试作弊,但它们结束,因为它们基本规则：。如果一个人想获得

成功,只有努力和他的汗水能说服他的荣耀。
