不管是外国人还是中国人，都希望有一个私密的、安静的小空间，让自己保持独立的思考；亦或是在观看某种节目的时候，你希望在安静的情况下观看；还有在图书馆复习的时候，你肯定也无法容忍周边太过吵闹吧？不管哪种情况，你都有必要示意身边的朋友保持安静，那么你该如何用英语来表述呢？

表达方式一、keep quiet/be quiet。

相对来说，这是咱们比较熟悉的表述方式，书面语与口语中都经常会用到。一般来说，意在告诉别人“请安静下来”，不要打扰到别人或者说影响别人做事。

be quiet,please,I need more time to think now.请保持安静，我需要一些时间来思考。 当然，除了上述这种比较礼貌的说法之外，还有一些说法就相当的严厉了，例如你已经受够了一些人的吵闹，或者说多次劝诫无效的时候，你可能就需要拿出一点脾气了！这个时候，你可以用下面的一些方式来表示自己的不满：

表达方式二、 Put a sock in it 之英式表达法

比如说已经受够了长时间的骚扰之后突然爆发，就可以用到Put a sock in it。下面咱们从一个例子中感受一下：

I’ve had enough of your moaning for one day. Why don’t

you put a sock in it? 你已经抱怨了一整天了，我也已经听够了，你安静一点行不行！

不难看出，这句话虽然不带责备的字眼，但是个中的不满情绪已经展现了出来，有的时候，我们也常用Put a cock in it来表述，意思是一样的。

表达方式三、 Cork it 之英式表达法

“Shhh, cork it and listen to him”.嘘，不要再讲话了，好好听他说！

相对来说，Put a sock in it使用的会比Put a sock in it频繁一些，特别是在口语中。 表达方式四、Button it 之英式表达法

相对于上述两种表达形式，这句话的口气要重一些，可以直接翻译成闭嘴！常常用在受够了某些人发出的声音时使用，例如：
