Sherpa Tenzing Norgay, a Nepalese Sherpa, became the first

individuals to successfully reach the summit of Mount Everest,

also known as Chomolungma. This historic achievement was a

The expedition began on March 9, 1963, when the team set

Whittaker and Norgay standing proudly on the summit.

The successful ascent of Mount Everest in 1963 was a

testament to the strength, skill, and determination of the

climbers. It marked a significant milestone in mountaineering
