英语语法同义词辨析详解road,

street

一、road 名词。意思是“道路、公路”。指供车辆或行人通过的路，

路两旁可能有房屋也可能没有房屋。还常指城镇里的街道。例如：

They are making a new road. 他们在新修一条路。

There are lots of cars on the road today. 今天街上小汽车多。

二、street 名词。意思是“街道”。指两旁有房屋的街道。例如：

He needs a street map of London. 他需要一张伦敦街区图。

He lives just across the street. 他正好住在街对面。

三、在表示“在某街”时，英国英语多用in，而美国英语则多用on。

例如：

A French girl lives in (on) the street.一个法国女孩住在这条街上。

一、result from ,意思是“由......造成、因......而产生”。句子主语是结

果，而from的宾语是原因。例如：

Sickness often results from eating too much.生病常常是吃得太多

引起的。

The accident resulted from a defective brake.这次事故是由于刹车

缺陷引起的。

Success results from hard work. 努力就会成功。

二、result in 意思是“引起（某种结果）、使获得（某种结果）、结

果......”。句子的主语是原因，in的宾语是结果。正好和result from相

反。例如：

The accident resulted in three deaths. 这次事故导致三人死亡。

His angry words resulted in a fight. 他的恶语引起打架。

Their diplomacy resulted in war. 他们的外交手腕引起战争。

一、refer to意思是“查阅、参阅、指......而言、适用于、提到、谈到”。

例如：

A person refers to a dictionary to find meaning of words. 查阅字

典去找单词的含义。

Don't refer to the matter again. 不要再提那事。

This rule refers to everyone. 这个规则适用于每个人。

二、 意思是“把......提交给......(跟组织或团体的名称)、把......

归功于（归咎于）......”。例如：

My doctor referred me to a specialist.我的医生让我去找一位专家诊

治。

The case was referred to the Court of Appeal. 这个案子被提交到

上诉法院。

He referred his success to the good teaching he's had. 他把成功

归功于他的好的教学。

He referred his depressions to his childhood illness. 他把抑郁症

归咎于童年时的病。

一、recall 及物动词。意思是“回忆、想起、回顾、记得”。指努力去

“回忆”。跟名词、动名词、从句，不能跟不定式。还有“召回、收回、

征召（入伍）、悔（棋）”等意思。例如：

I can recall stories that my mother told me years ago. 我还能回忆

起多年前母亲给我讲的故事。

I remember the story , but I can't recall who told me it. 我记得那

个故事，但我真想不起是谁讲给我听的。

I recall seeing him at a feast once or twice.我想起来在宴会上看到

过他一、二次。

The company recalled all the cars which were sold from May to

September. 这家公司召回从五月到九月销售的所有汽车。

二、remember 动词。意思是“记得、记住、记起”。指不用怎么思

索，一想即“记起”。跟名词或代词、动名词、不定式（包括带副词的

结构）、从句。例如：

I remember the whole thing as if it happened yesterday. 我记得

事情的整个经过，好像就在昨天发生的一样。

I remember taking medicine. 我记得吃过药了。

I remember to take medicine. 我会记住吃药的。

I can't remember when to take medicine. 我不记得什么时候要吃

药。

Carl remembers that he and his brothers were often hungry.卡尔

记得他和他的兄弟们经常挨饿。
